One of Holland America Line's beautiful mid-sized cruise ships, ms Maasdam is the fifth ship in Holland America's long history to bear the name. The theme of the ship is based on the Dutch East and West India companies of the 17th through 19th centuries.

There is a nice variety of accommodations available on board ms Maasdam, from interior staterooms to large suites with concierge service. Every suite has as verandah, and the ocean view staterooms offer their occupants a wonderful view of the beautiful lands that the ship cruises through.

Among the many entertainment venues and things to do on board ms Maasdam is the two-story Rembrandt Lounge, where an entertaining live performance takes place on each evening of the cruise. Possible shows include singers, dancers, comedians, acrobats and magicians. Also available aboard ms Maasdam is a casino, swimming pool, whirlpools, many bars and lounges (including Crow's Nest, an observation lounge that becomes a night club at night, and a Winetasting Bar), photo gallery, art gallery, spa, beauty salon, fitness center, as well as youth facilities (Club HAL® and The Loft).

Holland America Line is well known for their premium cuisine. As such, aboard ms Maasdam there is a great selection of restaurants and eateries. For instance, the two-story Rotterdam Dining Room is the ship's main dining room, offering guests a multi-course menu on each night of the cruise (as well as breakfast and lunch). Also on board ms Maasdam is the Lido Restaurant, which has a buffet with many international dishes available. 24-hour room service is a convenient option, especially for guests that would like to eat in the comfort and privacy of their suite or stateroom.
